What is Notes Of Strength?

Shalom, my name is Yitzchok Mayer Malek.

After performing for over 100,000 IDF soldiers on various bases throughout the country both up north and on the Gaza border, I’ve identified three critical needs that can be addressed through a singular impactful initiative.

The Three Critical Needs I've Identified On Base Are:

BBQs and Music for Soldiers’ Morale on Base:

Amidst the rigors of military life, moments of camaraderie and relaxation are essential for maintaining morale. This fundraiser provides funding for BBQs and music events on base, giving soldiers a chance to unwind, connect with their fellow service members, and enjoy a sense of normalcy.

Barbecues and music events offer soldiers a much-needed escape from the stresses of war and allow them to reconnect with their human side. The camaraderie and shared experience of enjoying a meal and listening to music together can significantly boost morale and help soldiers rediscover moments of joy and normalcy.

In addition to boosting morale, hosting barbecues and music events also provides much-needed support to the entertainment industry, which often suffers during wartime. With venues closed, performances canceled, and gatherings limited, musicians and entertainers face financial hardship and the loss of performance opportunities.

By incorporating music into the barbecue events, we not only enhance the experience for the soldiers but also provide a platform for musicians and performers to continue their work and generate income. This support helps sustain the industry during challenging times and contributes to its revival once the war subsides.

Protective Gear for Soldiers and Security Personnel:

The safety of our soldiers and security personnel is paramount. This fundraiser will allocate funds for the procurement of essential protective gear, including body armor, helmets, and other equipment, ensuring their well-being during their service. As we meet with soldiers on base, we gather information about their specific needs for protective gear, ensuring that the funds are utilized effectively to address their most pressing requirements.

Providing soldiers and security personnel with the necessary protective gear is essential for safeguarding their lives and ensuring they can perform their duties effectively.

Financial Assistance for Families of Soldiers in Need:

The families of soldiers often face financial challenges due to deployments and other service-related commitments. This fundraiser will provide financial assistance to families in need, alleviating their burdens and allowing them to focus on their well-being. Through our interactions with soldiers on base, we identify families who are experiencing financial hardship and direct assistance to those who need it most.

Supporting the families of soldiers is just as important as supporting the soldiers themselves. The financial burdens faced by families due to deployments and other service-related commitments can cause significant stress and anxiety. By providing financial assistance to families in need, we can help ease their worries and allow them to focus on their well-being and the well-being of their loved ones.

Our Mission

Despite significant donations to commendable organizations during this ongoing conflict, I feel compelled to highlight a critical gap on the ground here in the Holy Land.

Numerous individuals and families, including those I support, are still without assistance.

I have strong connections with many security personnel, including some I guard alongside, who lack essential protective gear such as bulletproof vests and helmets.

As IDF soldiers return from missions in Gaza and the north, there is a noticeable absence of morale-boosting support.

I am also frequently approached by struggling families trying to put food on the table and meet basic living expenses. During the limited moments of respite from my duties guarding my Moshav, I have taken it upon myself to initiate fundraising efforts to procure gear for security teams, organize musical barbecues to uplift the spirits of our soldiers on base and assist families in need.

I appreciate your consideration of this urgent matter. Our strength as a community shines brightest in times of crisis.

Fighting on the northern front against Hezbollah has tested us in every way—physically, mentally, and emotionally. But one challenge we never expected to be so relentless was the rain. The gear we were issued was supposed to protect us, but in reality, it left us soaked to the bone, freezing, and struggling to function. In a fight where every second matters, being wet and cold isn’t just uncomfortable—it’s dangerous. That’s where Notes of Strength stepped in. Yitzchok Mayer and his team didn’t just hear about our situation; they took it as a personal mission. They spent weeks hunting down the highest-quality rain gear—the kind designed for elite forces around the world. It wasn’t easy. This wasn’t something sitting on a shelf in a local store. They had to source it internationally, fundraise, purchase, and coordinate the complex logistics to get it into our hands in the middle of a war zone. And they did. The moment we put on the new rain gear, everything changed. We were dry, warm, and operational. Morale shot up. We could move, respond, and stay alert without the misery of freezing rain breaking us down. Instead of focusing on our discomfort, we could focus on what we’re here to do—defend our country. This wasn’t just about gear. It was about knowing that we are not alone. That there are people out there who understand what we’re going through and will go to the ends of the earth to make sure we have what we need.
